About Us
Sierra Vista Elite Cheer is a Non-Affiliated competitive cheerleading program. Athletes that are invited into the elite competition program show that they have exceptional dedication to competitive cheerleading, a great attitude, respect for their coaches and teammates, and meet the skill requirements to compete at a national level.
Why Should I Be Elite?
Being an SVE athlete opens doors to High School, All-Star, and College Cheerleading programs. Many athletes from the elite program have gone on to successfully participate in competitive cheerleading programs around the country and we are excited to continue to open these doors of opportunity for our elite athletes in the many seasons to come. Competitive cheerleading, much like many high-level sports, teaches athletes valuable lessons of dedication, teamwork, perseverance, respect, how to win and lose gracefully, and hard work. Furthermore, it gives our athletes a safe place to call their “second home,” friendships that can last a lifetime, and a huge boost in confidence that is essential when young adults enter the next stages of their lives.
Tryouts
All athletes must try out each season for elite teams. An athlete's placement on an SVE team in a previous season does not guarantee them a spot on a team in the current season. All athletes will be scored based off of the following elements: jumps, tumbling, stunting, motions/dance, and performance. Scores will be used to place each athlete on the appropriate team by the judging panel and the team coaches.
* SVE Prescott’s tryout clinics are May 11th-13th and evaluation day is May 15th.
* SVE One’s tryout clinics are May 18th-20th and evaluation day is May 22nd.
The tryout fee is $45
Cross Competing
Athletes are allowed to cross compete (compete on more than one SVE team). Athletes must fit within the age restrictions of both teams that they are interested in being evaluated for and athletes must be able to commit to both teams’ practice and competition schedules fully. If an athlete is interested in trying out for more than one team, they must express this at tryouts so that they may be evaluated appropriately.
If an athlete is placed on two teams at tryouts and after teams are announced, an athlete opts to only be on one team, the athlete will automatically be opted into the lower level team that they were placed on, no exceptions. For example: If an athlete is placed on both a level 2 team and a level 3 team, and they choose to only participate in one team, they would be placed on the Level 2 team.
SVE Athletes may not cross-compete on two teams that are the same level.
